The main objective of the annual IRF Symposium is to sustain the development of standards, methods and solutions by bridging the gap between science and industry. The face-to-face interaction between information retrieval scientists and patent information professionals is to be the beginning of a continuous knowledge transfer for the benefit of both worlds and a sustainable innovation cycle.
